As a consumer with a disability, and we have 4 kids so we do a lot of consuming, I am very interested in the accessibility of local businesses. As such, my wife, kids and I have joined with other local citizens and businesses to form Access Allies of Bloomington-Normal (www.accessallies.org). We are a non-profit group devoted to working with, not against, local businesses ans government to promote accessiblity and equal access. We’re about conversation, not confrontation. (At least, not yet.) Check out the site!
